BCG Workshop "Putting Skills to Work"

The Board for Certification of Genealogists is sponsoring their annual Education Fund Workshop the day before the NGS national conference, 7 May 2013, 8:30a.m.–4:30p.m. in Las Vegas. Registration is $110 and includes lunch. 

Beverly Rice, CG, and Connie Lenzen, CG, will lead this  six-hour, hands-on workshop entitled, “Walk in Your Ancestor’s Footsteps.” Attendees will participate in two sessions. Attendance is limited to 60, so register early! For more information, or to register, see  

Connie Lenzen,  cg, will lead a session on “Historical Context: More Than A Timeline.” The historical and geographical landscapes where our ancestors resided shaped how they lived, where they went to market, whom they met and married, where they recorded land sales and marriages, and the location of their final resting place. Connie Lenzen,  cg, former president of BCG and NGS director, is editor of the revised NGS American Genealogy: Home Study Course.

Beverly Rice,  cg, will lead a session on “The Path To Change And A Better Life—Migration.” Migration is more than a trail and the lives of a family; it is the growth of a country, the settling of a nation, and the creating of a history. Beverly Rice,  cg, lecturer on topics related to methodology, migration, women, and the western experience; conducts one-day seminars on methodology and record research.
